This chocolate orange no-bake cheesecake is an absolute crowd pleaser which I think you will love this holiday season.
Who doesn't love the flavours of chocolate and orange together?! It's a classic combo. I think that the chocolate orange combination is great around christmas time. I have fond memories of eating orange flavoured chocolate around the holiday season and think its the perfect dessert substitute for a more classic fruit based christmas cake.
Ingredients
This chocolate orange no-bake cheesecake has a rich, crumbly cocoa biscuit base made with biscuit crumb, cocoa powder, sugar and butter. It provides the most perfect base for the glorious choccy orange top. The 'cheese' element is rich, smooth and full of chocolate orange flavours. It is made with cream cheese, melted chocolate, orange and sugar.
This chocolate orange no-bake cheesecake can be made entirely plant-based, very easily! The only traditionally non-vegan products used in a cheesecake are cream cheese, butter and sometimes double cream. In this recipe, I don't use any double cream and the cream cheese + butter is vegan. You can buy vegan butter from pretty much every supermarket now: I use Flora most of the time. Vegan cream cheese is becoming more prominent in shops now too! Most of the vegan cream cheeses are coconut based, which I actually think gives a lovely flavour to desserts! If you are averse to coconut, look out for one which has a different base.
Instructions
The fact that you can make this recipe ahead of time and leave it in the fridge to set (overnight if you wish!) means it could be the perfect dessert choice for christmas day. If you have people in your family (like me) who are not a fan of christmas pudding, this chocolate alternative is an easy, delicious, dairy-free, vegan alternative that they are sure to love!
Mix your choc and cream cheese
Spread in your baking tin
Mix in your orange
Serve
Equipment
The only equipment needed for this recipe is a tin with a removable bottom (this will make your life way easier when removing the cheesecake after setting), a hand mixer, and some other normal equipment found in most kitchens (e.g. spoons!). This recipe is easy to make and requires minimal effort due to the no-bake element. The fact that this recipe is no-bake means it can be prepared and left in the fridge, ready to serve whenever!
I hope you love this recipe as much as I do. Let me know if you try it, or if you have any questions, in the comments section below or via instagram.

Chocolate Orange No-bake Cheesecake
Ingredients
- 300 g Chocolate I used half milk and half dark
- 150 g Icing sugar
- 750 g Cream cheese
- 2 teaspoon Orange extract
- 2 Oranges for decoration, optional
For the base
- 150 g Biscuit of choice
- 1 tablespoon Cocoa powder
- 3 tablespoon Butter
- 2 tablespoon Sugar granulated, white
Instructions
- In a food processor, blitz your biscuits up until a fine crumb has formed. Then, add your cocoa powder, granulated sugar and butter. Blitz again briefly, until all combined.
- Place your cheesecake crumb mixture into a baking tin with a removable bottom. Press it down using a spoon, until the crumb is spread evenly across the bottom of the pan. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, place your cream cheese and icing sugar. Use a hand mixer to combine this together. Then, melt your chocolate and add this to the bowl. Use the hand mixer again to mix the chocolate into the cream cheese. Finally, add the orange extract and combine again.
- Add the chocolate orange cream cheese mixture to the baking tin with the biscuit crumb. Using a mini palette knife or spoon, spread this out evenly, until all edges of your tin are filled with the creamy mixture. Then, place the cheesecake into the fridge to set for at least 4 hours (preferably overnight).
- Once your cheesecake has fully set, it is time to decorate it! Chop up your orange into different sized chunks and layer them on top of the cheesecake. I also cut some orange peel to put on top of the fresh orange. Once it is decorated to your preference, slice it up and enjoy!!
